Transport during the film festival
All the films, automatically distributed to 15+ cinemas across Amsterdam. Every film available in every screen, without anyone lifting a finger.
Customers
They differ in scale, focus and audience. What they share: with Filmfetch, their films arrive safely and on time in the right place.
Three stories
Every customer uses Filmfetch a little differently. Three examples: from straightforward film transport to the full chain, and from a smaller film festival to an A-list film festival.
PÖFF · Tallinn, Estonia
In the run-up we collect all the films centrally at the print traffic department: a few hundred titles, from every corner of the world. Every film is checked automatically on arrival, so problems come to light before the film festival starts.
Filmfetch is linked to Fiona, their own database system. That lets us distribute based on the programme: every cinema gets only the films it really needs, each venue through its own delivery point, one via FTP, another via our app. The film festival doesn’t have to worry about those differences; we absorb the complexity.
For their DCP lab we also built a custom download flow. And through our API they pull additional film information straight into their own systems.
We keep an eye on things the whole time. In the run-up and during the film festival we are in regular contact with the print traffic department, proactively, and straight away when something goes wrong.
“Filmfetch has transformed our entire film logistics workflow - from film requests to delivery to cinemas - into a seamless and convenient process. Combined with our festival information management tool, it provides smooth operations and full visibility at every step, ensuring that films arrive on time for screenings and in the best possible quality. Working with the Filmfetch team has been a true pleasure, their attention to detail and hands-on support make the partnership feel like a genuine collaboration.”

International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam
For IDFA we go further than for any other film festival. We handle all the film transport during the film festival, with automatic distribution to more than 15 cinemas. But the really special part is what happens around it: managing an archive of thousands of films, and the streaming on their own website.

Thousands of video files, spread over several storage locations, in the cloud and on site. IDFA stays in charge of what is where, and the whole organisation can search and watch in the system themselves.

Streaming video, integrated into the IDFA website: viewers get a seamless experience, with Filmfetch running behind it. And we render previews on demand, exactly when they are needed.
Rotterdam · Netherlands
A small, specialised film festival with a compact team, and no technical department of its own for film transport. On paper you would expect them to have to make compromises: fewer options, less control, more figuring things out themselves.
The opposite is true. Because they work with our platform and our support, they have exactly the same functionality and knowledge at hand as IDFA or Tallinn Black Nights. They have no print traffic department of their own, and still the same knowledge within reach.
That is exactly what Filmfetch was built for: the knowledge and technology of a big film festival, available to everyone who screens films, however small your team.
Same platform, same support
Whether you run an A-list film festival or a small film festival with big ambitions: we’re happy to think along with you.
